SEPARATING FROM THE PACK! And, Slipping While We're at It!

It was an eventful evening at our Niketown run last night!

First, there was ice on the ramp leading to the path.  Lynn eloquently embraced and tested the frozen waters for us.  She said she was ok and I hope that is true!!!!  She certainly continued on with us for our 5 mile run south on the path (because we hate looping around Navy Pier) to Roosevelt.  On that route, we met black ice, wet ice, what we thought was ice, and huge puddles.

OF COURSE, I said, “keep me from going too fast…” in my post yesterday but nobody did.  And, I have self control and I’m in control of my own self.  Therefore, I’m at fault for staying with the fast pack (Danny, Maria, John, Lynn, & Tony…the latter ditched us because we were very cautious on the way back…we won’t hold it against him!).  I think we averaged 8:30/8:45 mile in that mess!  Imagine the run on a clear path?!?  I think we’re ELITES IN TRAINING!

Wish more of you could have been out to enjoy the fun—we look forward to seeing you next time!

UPDATE:  pain in the butt seems to be gone.

UPDATE 2:  I’m probably not running this weekend so I can have a fresh start to another CES half marathon pacing season for the Spring, which starts next week.
