The wrap up to the official Nike Shamrock Shuffle training on Thursday was phenomenal, despite the HORRIBLE weather! Good thing most of the runners wanted to "taper" and do less mileage. I ran 3 miles with the 10 min/mile group and it was horrible running north on the lake with the sleet pelting our faces!!!!
The wrap up festivities at Niketown included a teaser announcement by Alison S. of Nike regarding a VERY special event taking place on August 31, 2008. "8/31/08...where will you be?" I am excited myself to find out what is going to happen. We should know by May 1st! So, stay tuned!
Today, it was a fun morning taking time away from running 12 miles with CES and, instead, working the Nike/Fleet Feet booth at the Shamrock Shuffle Expo. We got to entice "packet picker uppers" to stop by and get "free beer ticket number 2" just by signing up for nikeplus.com or, if they had an account already, just sign in and join a new challenge. In addition, if they tried on shoes, they were entered into a raffle to win an Ipod nano with the Nike+ system.
TOTAL FUN! The booth looked SWOOSHINGLY AWESOME! Kudos to the creators of the Run Lucky Pub theme. Boy, that was CREATIVE!
Tomorrow, I'm looking forward to enjoying the Nike VIP Lucky Runner area, which is supposed to be the same Run Lucky Pub, just relocated Grant Park.
