Marathon Training Update

Nike Marathon Training Has Started!

We are now wrapping up on day three.

Monday was a great 5 mile run (based on MY schedule) out of Fleet Feet with 120+ people in attendance.

I am swapping my Tuesdays and Wednesdays so yesterday I did a 30 minute abs class followed by 15 minutes on the elliptical and 15 min on the bike (ALL BORING!) followed by lower and upper body strengthening.  I got antsy being in the gym for THAT long!  I hope to get over that!  Maybe I need to find better shows to watch...or, I'm due for new music on my Ipod!

Today at the Fleet Feet Racing Team workout, we did a "Prefontaine Workout"--my version was a 1000 meter at just under 5k pace immediately into a 15 minute tempo run, repeated once and then ended with the 1000 meter.  I bowed out of the Tunisian strengthe training given last night.

BOY OH BOY!

Tomorrow is NIKETOWN TRAINING DAY!  I'm particularly biased to the Thursday evening and Saturday morning long runs because I am pacing the 9:00 minute / mile groups throughout marathon training!  I can't wait!  AND, I can't wait because quite a few of us are heading to Rock Bottom Grill (AWESOME BEER AND ONLY $3/PINT!) afterwards.

See you tomorrow...Saturday...ANY day!  Join my awesome pace group and you won't be disappointed! (the others won't disappoint either! ;)
