Re: [ChicagoNikeRunners] Help!

Maria,

Unfortunately, the directions are not the most clear.  Just do this:

Do a run where you know the exact mileage and don't walk (pausing it at stop lights and for water seems fine).
Go home and plug in the USB to your computer and click on the "i" in the lower hand corner of the little window.
Click on the "calibration" tab.
It will recognize a "calibrate-able" run and tell you which that it was.
Adjust the mileage if it is off.
Make sure you click done and close out of that before removing the USB from your computer.

*IMPORTANT NOTE* - I think the best rule of thumb is to make sure your "calibration run" is the very last one logged on your SportBand because it doesn't seem to recognize any of the ones prior for calibration.

I have not calibrated the walking option...but if I did...I would plan to walk a quarter mile or half and not use the SportBand again until AFTER I plugged it in to calibrate.

FINALLY, I noticed that it didn't recognize my first run for calibration.  Therefore, plan on doing a sync before calibration one or two times with the "default" settings.  That way, the SportBand software will have time to sync up with Nikeplus.com which doesn't seem to happen the first 1 or 2 times using the software.  Although, your mileage IS uploaded to your username even though it may show "pending"

Hope that's not too confusing and I hope others find this helpful.

If you have any other feedback about the SportBand or anything else, do share because I'm sure Nike appreciates it all.  Personally, I have recommended a backlight for evening runs, a split time option, AND I just thought of one tonight...one of the options in addition to calories, pace, miles, and chrono should be the ACTUAL time.

Enjoy and see you all at Niketown tomorrow!  See my blog if you want to read up on my training this week and to see where we are heading after the Niketown run.

NIGHT!

I just purchased the Nike+ Sport Band and would like to calibrate it tonight.  I've been playing aroung with it but don't really understand how to get to the calibration function.  Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks,
Maria Alajakis
